About This Event

ASEAN Member States (AMS) are increasingly adopting and deploying digital technologies to expand and diversify their digital economies. From data-driven systems to paperless processes, digitalisation is transforming trade and creating ‘digital’ trade opportunities for businesses across sectors and industries. However, there is not alignment on what digital trade fully entails, making it difficult for policymakers and regulators to truly understand its scale and scope, as well as how to best frame and govern it.

This workshop will clarify current approaches to defining digital trade and its components, present several current methods used to measure the size of digital trade and explore some of the ways AMS could harmonise both their qualitative approaches and their quantitative methods towards digital trade measurement.
